Member of the Month - Simona Pajaujiene

Simona Pajaujiene is one very active lady! Not only is she an EREPS member and co-founder of the Lithuanian-based training provider Active-Training but she also finds time to sit on EuropeActive’s Professional Standards Committee.

“To me, EREPS is a great indicator of quality and credibility! Initially, I was attributed as a Level 4 Personal Trainer but having a degree in Physical Education and a Masters in Public Health meant I was upgraded to the highest level: Level 6 Advanced Health and Exercise Specialist. It's a huge responsibility but also a great honour for me to be part of the European family of Exercise Specialists!

“This new-found status gave me the confidence, motivation and the vision to want to teach other health and fitness professionals and provide the highest standard of training possible. That’s why I formed ActiveTraining!

“When Lithuania joined the EU in 2004 there was a lot of work to do to catch up with other European countries in the provision of health and fitness education so I felt it was really important to ensure that the training courses I provided were not just competitive and comparable to other European countries but were validated by EuropeActive. I am really proud to acknowledge that our Aqua Fitness Instructor, Fitness Instructor, Group Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer courses have all been given EuropeActive’s seal of approval and have successfully gone through their rigorous accreditation process.

“I strongly believe that all exercise professionals should be committed to the Lifelong Learning Process. I love learning, and although I have a high level of education, I am continually adding to my skills and knowledge base. It’s equally important to break stereotypes, and be motivated to continually look to improve and raise the standards of fitness across Europe. This is one of the reasons I love my role on the Professional Standards Committee. Ultimately, we must love people; must love our job. I do!"

Thank you Simona! We love working with you and are equally proud to have you as one of our staunchest supporters!

Exercise of the Month - Importance of individualised training

Acreddited training provider Paul Petersens Idrætsinstitut explains the importance of individual based exercises.

"This video represents some of the basic skills we work on when introducing our students to movement. We are facilitating the science of physical activity in combination with playfulness, coordination drills and personal growth. We try to exceed ordinary fitness trends by incorporating the fundamental structures of exercises into a wholesome system that includes the individual on both a physical and mental level. With this method we find that our students learn to motivate all segments of people with a great understanding of each person, and with many tools to guide each one in their personal training journey".
