The EuropeActive Covid-19 Standards and Skills Task Force has successfully developed the ‘Online provision of fitness services’ qualification as part of its review of the Sector Qualification Framework in consideration of Covid-19 restrictions and limitations.

This qualification system aims to provide fitness professionals with the knowledge, skills and autonomy-responsibility to safely and effectively deliver fitness services -exclusively on-line or to significantly support them with online tools- within their scope of practice as a certified exercise professional at a particular EQF level.

Director of Professional Standards Committee Julian Berriman commented: “We recently commenced the external consultation process as the next step towards the finalisation of this new qualification and we would appreciate feedback from European employers, academic institutions, personal training practitioners and vocational training providers. The more experts we can involve in this process, the better. We strongly believe that with their expertise and experience this initiative can bring great benefit in adding to the employability and opportunities for fitness professionals and the on-going growth of the fitness and physical activity sector”.

The deadline to receive feedback from experts is 1st November 2020. To provide these comments please either complete and send us the official comments form or simply send them to anna.szumilewicz@awf.gda.pl
