EXPLOSIVE BARBELL is a strength and power conditioning course, that aims to train on the use of barbells with the correct techniques, to employ these movements in increasing physical strength and explosive power, and to prepare players for the lifts that used in international Olympic Weightlifting competitions, and to help trainer to incorporate the explosive barbell movements in their clients’ fitness training programs.

• Designing a full Explosive Barbell class using circuits and complexes.
• Designing their own weightlifting programs.
• Making assessment to their clients before designing the training program.
• Incorporating Olympic Weightlifting into client programs.
• Describing the athletic position & the triple extension.
• Choosing the correct weightlifting specific warm up and stretches.
• Mastering the snatch, and clean & jerk.
• Implementing the correct and safest escaping strategies in the case of failed lifts.
• Using the force-velocity curve and implementing it in strength & power weightlifting training program design.
• Using the correct breathing techniques in weightlifting training.
• Using the overload strategies and the training variables to design programs.
• Demonstrate, apply, describe and perform the fundamental and supplemental weightlifting exercises.

Assessment Process:
• Student will be required to submits a video for himself/herself demonstrating 3 repetitions of each of the following movements (Snatch, Clean& Jerk, Front squat, Deadlift), starting with a full demonstration and ending with a common error with the correction for the same movement.
• The Total score of the assessment is out of 100.
• If the student fails any of the required movements’ techniques, he/she will be requested to submit a new video for the same movement.
• If the student scored less than 70, he/she will be requested to submit another video of the 4 movements.
Note:
Students will have a period of 2 months in order to practice and submit the assessment videos, starting from the last day of the course.
