This course is designed to equip learners with comprehensive knowledge about mental well-being, including its definition and key components. The course delves into common mental health issues and conditions, identifying their characteristics, signs, and symptoms. Evidence-based strategies for enhancing mental well-being will be explored, alongside practical approaches tailored for online health coaching.
Additionally this course delves deeply into an emerging area of enhancing both physical and mental well-being: Breathwork. Mikkel Sonne, an experienced breathwork practitioner and expert, will guide the learner through the theoretical foundations and practical exercises relevant to clients.
The course learning style is asynchronous learning, meaning the learner may learn on their own schedule, within a certain timeframe.
The course has been created by Lenus together with Emily Bridges, Mikael Vincents, Andreas Hessner, Charlie Chrie and Mikkel Sonne as the subject matter experts and content providers.
Learning Outcomes:
Part I - Background on Mental Wellbeing
In this part the learner will be introduced to the theoretical background of the topic and get an understanding of the key mechanisms in society that are believed to cause a rise in poor mental health.
Part 2 - Common Mental Health Challenges
In this part, a few selected mental health concerns that are most prevalent in today’s society and often influenced by lifestyle aspects of an individual are explained. The learner will find that there are commonalities and connections between them.
Part 3 - Improving your clients’ mental wellbeing
In this part of the course the learner will learn how to take a holistic approach to address and help clients improve their mental wellbeing to further facilitate them reaching their health goals.
Part 4 - Breathwork
This part is a deep-dive into Breathwork. It is designed to deepen the learners understanding of Breathwork, exploring its ancient roots and modern scientific backing. It explores why mastering breath is crucial for mental, physical, and emotional health, and how it can improve both personal and professional life. Various breathwork techniques, their applications, and the science that explains their efficacy are covered. As a coach, insights on integrating breathwork into practice, from selecting suitable techniques for clients to monitoring their progress and fostering lasting well-being are gained.
