Personal Trainer, Exercise for Health Specialist, Graduate Exercise Professional

About me:

I have conducted two professional careers: a career as biochemist and molecular cell biologist and a professional sport career in Ironman triathlon and long distance running (www.silkepichler.co.uk/index0).

In 2011, I have qualified as personal trainer with Reps in the UK and set up a business as self-employed personal trainer in Cambridge. I have worked as Strength & Conditioning Sportcoach and level 4 Personal Trainer in LA Fitness, DW Sports and Better Health in Cambridge, and moved my business to Gymbox Bank in London in 2015.
I have coached the Cambridge University Varsity Swimming Team and the Topsquat of the City of Cambridge Swimming Club for international competitions in 2014/2015.

In 2017 I was awarded the Level 6 Personal Trainer and Advanced Health & Fitness Professional Award from EREPS and I was nominated EREPS member of the month September. In 2019, I was awarded spotlight member of EREPS.
In 2020 I transferred my UK PT license to CIMSPA and was awarded Cimspa recognized GP exercise referral practitioner.
I have been training in The Gymway in Marble Arch, London since June 2018, and I am working towards a qualification as Master trainer in Mental Health for my work in the health & social care sector, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic (supporting the NHS in the community) and at various SEND schools and colleges (as PE teaching assistant and sportcoach).

I have conducted a mentorship training program at HERA, an international human rights organization supporting survivors of human trafficking and modern slavery, and provided mentoring in a volunteer basis for several years. In addition, I have been competing in marathon & ultramarathon races for TRIBE foundation, an organisation fighting human trafficking and modern slavery since 2018.

I was honoured by the Austrian media ORF1 channel in summer 2021 in the course of the programme of the summer Olympics for my achievements in science and my contributions to the Austrian National Elite triathlon team:

In 2023, I helped to organize the Charity event ‘No child left behind’ with CIMSPA and raised funding for Youth Sport Trust. I recruited, trained and was leading a team of 5 SEND teaching staff to climb 1000 m elevation in the Peak District carrying 20 kg (weight of a child). We achieved the Bronze medal, and contributed to sports funding for socially disadvantaged children and young people. The project was the continuation of my many years of coaching work for children social services in Cambridge.
