I am originally from New Zealand, but have lived in a few places since I left there. I decided to become a personal trainer because I was disappointed with the level of assistance and coaching I had been receiving as I got older. Older bodies need a little bit more attention when it comes to making sure you don't get injured, or you don't aggravate an existing condition. I have a background in health, I trained originally in New Zealand as a registered nurse. I've gone on to do a Science degree in homeopathy and natural health, having my own successful practice for 10 years in the UK before we moved to China. I am also qualified in massage and reflexology, and am a qualified nutritional advisor from the UK.
My focus is really to keep people moving, having fun and getting the most out of their life. Looking at the positives about what is possible, rather than thinking about what they can't do anymore. I'm really keen to ensure good posture, lots of stretching and I'm not the most keen on hours and hours of sport. If that's your thing - you go for it. Me, 30-45 mins every day - that's me. I like variety.
After living and working in the Netherlands for 8 years, and I studied and did the courses in dutch.I worked in a gym, doing my daily job in dutch. Since October 2024 we have been living near Lagoa on the Algarve in Portugal. A couple of accidents and incidents over the past 18 months, have meant the road has been bumpy, but I'm still going strong
