EuropeActive updates EQF Level 4 Pilates Teacher Standards

EuropeActive has now reviewed and updated Standards for the occupational role of Pilates Teacher. The review was conducted by a Technical Expert Group formed by the EuropeActive Professional Standards Committee and consisting of experts from national Pilates’ federations, Pilates associations and training schools. The Standards were then subject to a process of industry external consultation where interested parties were given the opportunity to provide feedback on the draft Standards.
 

EREPS 20 CLASS OF 2023 PARTICIPANTS SELECTED

After careful consideration, the 20 participants for the EREPS 20 event taking place on 17 & 18 June in Athens, Greece have been selected and confirmed. The participants will be travelling from all over Europe and beyond to attend this prestigious event. The EREPS team eagerly anticipate the opportunity to meet and spend time with them in a high level learning environment.
 

EREPS Member Survey: key insights on employment, income and qualifications revealed

EREPS has recently completed a survey of its membership with the aims of offering better support and identifying any shifting trends in the employment status of fitness professionals. The survey was completed by 439 individual respondents and so gives an excellent sample of the current EREPS membership. The results from this and future surveys will be invaluable in shaping the future direction of EREPS and the on-going professionalisation of the European fitness and physical activity workforce.
 

EFAA first EREPS Accredited Provider for the Healthy Lifestyle Promoter Lifelong Learning Qualification(LLQ)

EFAA is now accredited to provide the Level 2 Healthy Lifestyle Promoter LLQ which was developed through the Erasmus plus project 'New Health Programme' New Health Foundation – New Health Foundation (new-health.eu) to address the societal issues of widespread inactivity and poor health.

What is cueing?
 
Cue / (ˈkjuːɪŋ) / refers to a signal or a stimulus that results in an action. In other words, giving instructions, pointers or directions. The way trainers cue will predict the way clients learn specific movements and exercises.
 

Restating the importance of the EREPS Code of Ethical Practice

When fitness facilities reopen again across Europe, both fitness professionals and their customers must feel comfortable and confident that they are safe within the club. Customers must feel that their health and well-being are of paramount importance. This priority necessitates many adaptations in terms of the day-to-day operations of those facilities. Many fitness professionals will be working on an employed or self-employed basis within these facilities or may indeed be operating their own gym, studio, home-based or outdoor training space.
